Will Neopets Move to Mobile Soon?

Neopets is not planning to release a mobile app anytime soon. Although the idea of a mobile version was initially considered, a TNT staff member confirmed in September 2020 that it was deemed unfeasible at the time. Despite this, the team continues to focus on making the site more mobile-friendly, allowing players to access it through mobile browsers.

Will Neopets Only Be Available on Mobile in the Future?

No, Neopets will still be accessible on desktop. While the site is working on being more mobile-friendly, it will not abandon desktop users. The desktop version will continue to exist alongside mobile access.

Were There Plans for a Mobile App Under Viacom’s Ownership?

Yes, under Viacom’s ownership, there were plans to develop a Neopets mobile app called Neopets On-The-Go. This app was intended as a companion to the main desktop site, allowing players to engage with their NeoMails, check training times, and perform other activities while away from their desktop. However, as with many mobile apps, financial viability became a major concern. The project was pursued by a small volunteer team of salaried workers, working overtime without pay.

Unfortunately, despite reaching 97% completion, the app was canceled by JumpStart, with all resources redirected to the development of Ghoul Catchers, a different game. As a result, the mobile app was never released, and by the time this information came to light, the app’s coding had become too outdated to ever be launched.
