The Neopets Companion App is now live on both iOS and Android, giving you a much easier way to keep up with your Neopets account when you’re away from your computer.
And this isn’t just a glorified login screen. The app has continued to receive new features since its launch, and you can now do quite a bit of actual Neopets gameplay from your phone.

Neopets Companion App Is Now Live
The Companion App originally launched in Australia and New Zealand as a limited release, but that was only the beginning. The app is now available more broadly on iOS and Android, with Neopets continuing to add features and improve the mobile experience. You connect the app to your existing Neopets account using NeoPass, so your pets, inventory, scores, and other account information stay connected. In other words, you don’t need to start over with some weird mobile version of your Neopets account. It’s your actual account. And yes, your 20-year-old pets can come along for the ride.

The Companion App has grown considerably since its initial launch. It’s no longer just a place to feed your pets and spin a few wheels.

One of the simplest features is also one of the most useful.
You can view your pets and feed them directly from the app without having to navigate through the full Neopets website.
If you’re the kind of person who remembers that your pet hasn’t eaten in approximately six months while you’re standing in line at the grocery store, congratulations. You can finally fix that problem from your phone.
Check Your Inventory
The Companion App lets you check your inventory from your phone, making it much easier to see what you’re carrying without opening the full desktop site.
This is especially useful if you’re doing dailies, collecting event items, or trying to figure out where that one random item you picked up yesterday disappeared to.

Trudy’s Surprise
Yes, you can visit Trudy’s Surprise through the Companion App.
For anyone who has spent years logging into Neopets specifically to make sure they don’t miss another Trudy’s Surprise, this is a pretty big deal.
You can take care of it directly from your phone instead of opening the full website every day.
One less thing standing between you and those daily Neopoints.
Scratchcards
Scratchcards are also supported in the Companion App.
This makes it much easier to take care of scratchcard-related activities while you’re away from your computer, especially if you’re trying to keep your daily routine moving along.

Fishing is also available through the Companion App.

The app has already been used for events such as the Solitaire Soiree, where players could play Sakhmet Solitaire II and submit scores from the Companion App.
Fashion Fever
Fashion Fever was one of the classic Neopets games brought to mobile with the Companion App.
It’s a nice fit for mobile because you don’t need a complicated setup or a giant screen to play it.
Solitaire 2.0
Solitaire also made its way onto the Companion App, including support for the Sakhmet Solitaire II game used during the Solitaire Soiree event.
Kiko Match III
Kiko Match III is also available on the Companion App.
This one is particularly important for players participating in Kiko Match Madness events. If your account is connected through NeoPass, scores submitted from the Companion App can count toward the event.

The addition of the Marketplace Hub also makes mobile restocking much more realistic than it was when the Companion App first launched.
You can browse the available Neopian Shops, search for items and jump between storefronts without needing to load the old desktop-style pages on your phone.
Is it going to replace a serious restocker’s desktop setup?
Probably not.
But if you’re the type of player who sees a shop restock while you’re away from your computer and immediately needs to investigate, having the option on your phone is incredibly useful.
NeoPass Keeps Everything Connected
The Companion App uses NeoPass to connect your mobile experience with your main Neopets account.
This is particularly important for games and events where scores or participation need to be associated with your main account.
For example, Neopets specifically notes that Kiko Match III scores submitted through the Companion App require the Companion App and main account to be connected through NeoPass.
So if something doesn’t appear to be syncing properly, checking your NeoPass connection should be one of the first things you do.
What the Companion App Is Actually Good For
The biggest advantage of the Companion App isn’t necessarily that it replaces Neopets.com.
It doesn’t.
The desktop site still has a lot more going on, especially if you’re doing things like customization, complicated item management, Battledome activities, trading, auctions, galleries, or other parts of Neopia that aren’t designed around a simple mobile interface.
The Companion App is better thought of as a mobile companion to your main Neopets account.
It’s perfect for the things you want to do quickly.
Check your pets.
Feed them.
Spin your wheels.
Do Trudy’s Surprise.
Go fishing.
Check your inventory.
Scratch your cards.
Play a few games.
Visit shops.
Then get back to whatever you were supposed to be doing.
That’s really where the app shines.
Is the Neopets Companion App Worth Downloading?
If you actively play Neopets, yes.
Even if you still prefer the desktop website for most of your gameplay, having the Companion App installed gives you another way to access your account when you don’t have a computer nearby.
And unlike the old mobile experience, you don’t have to fight your browser every time you want to do something.
The app has also continued to receive new features since launch, so it’s worth keeping updated. Neopets has specifically said that the team is continuing to integrate more features into the mobile app.
The Companion App has gone from a small collection of mobile-friendly activities to something that is becoming a legitimate second way to play Neopets.
It’s still not the entire Neopets website in your pocket.
But honestly, it doesn’t need to be.
If I can feed my pets, grab my daily rewards, spin some wheels, check my inventory, play a quick game and potentially do some shopping without opening 14 browser tabs, I’m happy.
And after all these years, that’s probably the biggest compliment I can give a Neopets mobile app.
