Neocola Machine Worth It? A Deep Dive into the Odds, Rewards, and Risks
The Neocola Machine has a reputation for dispensing a variety of prizes, ranging from Dr. Sloth-themed booby prizes to the ultra-rare Transmogrification Potion. But just how likely is it that you’ll score these highly sought-after items? Is there a strategy that increases your chances of winning big, or is it just pure luck? After testing over 1000 Neocola Tokens across multiple inputs, I’ve gathered the results to help you make an informed decision about whether or not the Neocola Machine is worth your time and Neopoints.
Does the Color of the Neocola Token Make a Difference?
Yes, but mainly when it comes to Neopoint payouts. Here’s what I found:
- Red Tokens provide the highest average payout, at around 200 Neopoints per play.
- Green Tokens give a lower average of 156 Neopoints.
- Blue Tokens give the smallest average of 117 Neopoints.
While this may not sound like a huge difference, it’s worth noting that the price of each token is roughly the same—about 800 Neopoints per token. This means that Red Tokens are your best bet if you’re focused on maximizing your Neopoint return, although you’re still likely to operate at a loss.
Despite the differences in Neopoint payouts, when it comes to prizes, there doesn’t appear to be a significant advantage tied to the color of the token. Across the data I collected, the chance of receiving a specific booby prize seemed to remain consistent, regardless of token color. The likelihood of receiving any given prize was around 7-11%, with minor fluctuations that aren’t statistically significant.
Does the Soda You Choose Impact Your Rewards?
Interestingly, the soda selection appears to play a role in how much you’ll win in Neopoints. Here’s a breakdown of the average payout for each soda:
- Dehydrated H20: 217 Neopoints (adjusted average: 353 Neopoints, including large payouts)
- Mountain Poo: 188 Neopoints
- Minion Maid: 176 Neopoints
- Smite: 152 Neopoints
- Na’cho Cola: 156 Neopoints
- Alt-Tab: 167 Neopoints
- Diet Doom: 131 Neopoints
- Dr. Slother: 103 Neopoints
As you can see, Dehydrated H20 stands out with the highest average payout, and notably, every large payout I received (5,000+ Neopoints) came from Dehydrated H20. If you’re aiming for the highest average reward, this soda is the clear choice. No significant differences in prize outcomes were observed based on the soda selected, but for Neopoint gains, Dehydrated H20 is the clear winner.
Does the Number of Button Presses Affect Your Outcome?
The number of times you press the red button does seem to influence your payouts. Here’s a summary of the average Neopoints for each button press count:
- 0 presses: 156 Neopoints
- 1 press: 81 Neopoints (the worst result)
- 2 presses: 166 Neopoints
- 3 presses: 245 Neopoints (the best result)
- 10 presses: 163 Neopoints
- 42 presses: 150 Neopoints
From these results, it’s clear that pressing the button three times on average gives the highest payout in Neopoints. One press, on the other hand, leads to the worst results. While the number of button presses didn’t seem to affect the likelihood of receiving specific prizes, pressing the button three times seems like your safest bet for maximizing your Neopoint rewards.
What Other Prizes Can You Win?
Beyond Neopoints, the Neocola Machine can also reward you with rare items. These include:
- Baby Space Fungus (about 0.5-1% drop rate)
- Robot Petpet (Griefer), Virtupets Brand Doomsday Device, and other quirky prizes
Though the rare prizes can be valuable to collectors, don’t expect to make a significant profit from them. The Transmogrification Potion, which can sell for millions of Neopoints, is what most players are after. Unfortunately, this rare prize is exceedingly difficult to obtain.
In my tests, despite using over 1,000 tokens, I never received a Transmogrification Potion. Statistically, the odds of receiving one appear to be less than 1 in 1,000 plays, though some players have reported getting one after as few as 50 plays. If your main goal is to snag a Transmogrification Potion, be prepared for a long, often fruitless, grind.
Is It Worth It?
Here’s the bottom line: If you’re looking to make a profit, the Neocola Machine is not worth your time. At best, you might break even with a small chance of receiving a rare item like the Transmogrification Potion, but the odds are heavily stacked against you.
However, if you’re playing for fun or the thrill of gambling, the Neocola Machine can still be an enjoyable experience. Based on my testing:
- Red Tokens are the best for Neopoint payouts.
- Dehydrated H20 is the most rewarding soda.
- Pressing the button three times yields the best results.
For a small profit, you’d need a Transmogrification Potion, but even then, the odds are slim. Consider your risk tolerance and the enjoyment factor when deciding whether to play. If you’re not concerned about the financial outcome and just want the excitement of taking a shot at rare prizes, then by all means, go ahead and play—but keep in mind that you’re mostly gambling your Neopoints away.
Good luck, and may the odds be in your favor!
